InkSight 5: The Significance of Web3 — A Paradigm Shift, Radical Innovation, & A Social Experiment

An interview with INK’s early investor, Charlie Hu, managing partner of LucidBlue Ventures, founder of MetaCelium

Q1: You are an investor, an influencer, and an ecosystem builder. As a veteran in the blockchain industry, what interesting projects are you working on now?

My current focus is mainly outreach and catching up a lot of my old and new contacts in the web3 space. I keep up strong connections with them through attending crypto conferences and even organizing our own events in the US. Our investment focus is centered around #Web3 infrastructure, #NFT tooling protocols, #blockchain gaming and #metaverse tooling solutions, etc.

Q2: You have been actively traveling around the globe since covid travel restrictions have lightened, what are some of the latest themes you see in Web3 development across the different regions of the world?

I am currently traveling across all the major US crypto hubs such as LA, SF, NYC, Miami and currently in Austin(for the Consensys conference). I think there is a lot of hype and growth in the NFT space, especially in the entertainment fields. The experiences I had in NFT LA & VeeCon were amazing. I got the chance to talk with so many interesting community developers, NFT influencers and creative builders.

Q3: If asked to give three key words to describe the significance of Web3, what would you say?

A Paradigm shift, radical innovation, & a social experiment.

Q4: What kind of role will DAOs play in the foreseeable future?

Social governance. DAO can be an important tool and an organizational structure that can transform societal governance models for many organizations.

The DAO will gradually be an important working and socializing subculture or sub-genre that will connect people from all the world.

DAOs will be a type of social structure facilitating future innovation & participatory cooperation across all kinds of fields such as charity, gaming, metaverse, fashion, entrepreneurship, investment, design, etc.

Q5: You are among the earliest investors of Ink Finance, what part of its visions or missions do you believe in the most?

Ink Finance has a very solid understanding of multi-chain asset financing with a unique solution based on a comprehensive DAO governance toolset. I believe in its solid engineering capabilities and the forward thinking DAO solutions that the team is delivering.
